Reworking an existing extension

This project was an alteration to an existing extension rather than a build from scratch. The original structure stayed in place, but the roof was completely reworked to a new layout, changing how the space sat against the rest of the house and opening it up to a better, more usable shape inside.

Forming the new roof meant new joists throughout, sized and set out to carry the revised layout and the loads above. With the new structure in place, the extension was insulated, weathered and finished so the altered space performs as well as a new build and reads as a natural part of the home.

As with every DNR Build project, the work was managed end to end by our own team, kept tidy throughout, and finished to a standard designed to add lasting value to the home. Planning, building control and structural detail were handled on the client's behalf so the process stayed simple from start to finish.
